DISTRICT PUBLIC/REGULAR MEETING
The trustees of the Menard County Cemetery Maintenance District met in regular session of the Annual Meeting. With there being a quorum, the meeting was called to order on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 9:15 a.m. at 19127 State Highway 123, Petersburg, Illinois.
PRESENT: Trustees: Richard Dennis, Mark Stewart and Reggie Dowell, Attorney, Jerry Tice, Jeremy Bennett, Superintendent and Charlotte Watkins, Office Assistant.
AGENDA: Mark Stewart moved to accept the agenda as submitted. Reggie Dowell seconded. Motion passed.
MINUTES: Mark Stewart moved to approve the minutes of the July 20,2022 meeting as submitted. Reggie Dowell second, motion passed.
TREASURE’S REPORT: Reggie Dowell moved to approve the Financial Reports as submitted. Mark Stewart seconded, motion passed. President Dennis stated he would like Charlotte to print out copies of the Condensed Annual Treasurers Report for the joint meeting.
LEVY ORDINANCE: Attorney Jerry Tice explained to the Board the calculating of the 5% Tax Levy and how we could not extend beyond the Inflation Cap. but with Inflation being higher we should receive the full amount Levied.
Charlotte ask about the Replacement Tax received from the State. Mr. Tice explained that was paid by the Corporations in Illinois.
Mark Stewart moved to approve the Levy Ordinance #159, Reggie Dowell second, all Trustees say Aye, motion passed. Richard Dennis and Mark Stewart signed the levy documents including the Truth in Taxation form.
EQUIPMENT: Manager Jeremy Bennett stated that we are ok for now but would need several things in the future. He informed the Board that a Fender on one of the trailers had rusted through and that he was pricing replacement fenders. Mr. Bennett informed the Members that the Backhoe was currently being worked on for a relay switch problem.
President Dennis ask if there were any problems with the Bobcat. Jeremy said it was working fine.
OFFICE/ OFFICE EQUIPMENT: No office equipment needed at this time although Charlotte stated that the Payroll may need to be upgraded in the future.
EMPLOYEE SITUATION: Manager Bennett said the Employee situation was fine at this time, but come Spring Weed Eaters will be needed.
BONUSES: President, Richard Dennis reported that he received the money for the bonuses of Mitchell, Jeremy and Dimitri from the Cemetery Boards. The bonuses were distributed to the employees.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business for the Trustees, Reggie Dowell moved to adjourn at 9:58 a.m., Mark Stewart seconded, Motion passed.
